He tried a lot to get out of the mud, but didn’t achieve. He had to lie without food for days because he didn’t find any help. On one fortunate day, a kind jackal came to drink water from the river. When he saw the lion, he went closer to the lion and said, “What is the matter? Why are you resting here?”
The lion narrated him the pathetic story. The Jackal instantly made a way out from the sand but the lion was unable to move his feet. As he was set in the same posture for last several days, his body became stiff. The Jackal understood the condition of the lion and helped him to get out of the mud with an extra effort. The lion was really thankful to Jackal for his kind help. He was very happy to get free after so many days.
The lion appreciated the effort made by the Jackal. He offered the Jackal to live close to him and also promised to give food to him whenever he caught food. The Jackal accepted the offer and started living with the lion. Thus, they lived happily sharing the food. With the passing time, they expanded their families. The lion had cubs and the jackal had kid jackals. Both, the lion and the jackal were passing their days happily. They didn’t have any idea that their friendship was not liked by their families.
One day after a long time, the lioness, lady of the lion’s house, told her cubs that she didn’t like the empty between the jackal and her husband. The cubs passed the message to the kid jackals. The kids complained the matter to the lady jackal. The lady jackal passed the complaint to her husband.
The jackal went to the lion and asked, “I helped you without any thought in return. You had asked me to live with you, so I started living with you. Now, if you don’t want me to live with you, you should have told me yourself. What did you involve your wife and cubs to convey this?” The lion was shocked to hear such words. He said, “My dear friend, what are you saying? I don’t find any problem with you or your friendship”. He assured the jackal that he had no such ill-feelings for the friendship between them.
The lion also assured that he would talk to the lioness and solve the whole matter. The jackal was intelligent and understood the situation. He said to the lion, “dear friend, I know you are sincere, but our families could not exactly respond the same level of friendship. So, let us stay apart and meet often as friends. We could also hunt together. It would be better, if our families stay apart”. The lion agreed to the proposal with a heavy heart.

PENTAS SENI MTs. KANJENG SEPUH SIDAYU - Telling Story - Missing Puppets

Missing Puppets

Kim and Sandra were doing their homework from school. They had to make a cloth puppet and a paper house.
At noon, Kim and Sandra left their room to have lunch in the dining room. While they were busily eating and chatting, their brothers Alex and Tim sneaked into the bedroom. They took the puppets and hid them behind the wardrobe.
After lunch, Kim and Sandra couldn’t find the puppets anywhere. They searched everywhere, but still the puppets were missing. meanwhile, Alex and Tim were playing outside. Kim and Sandra cried, because they would not be able to hand in their puppets the next day.
In the morning, Tim remembered that they hadn’t returned the puppets to the girls. “Here are the puppets. I’m sorry we hid them yesterday,” Tim said. Grandma was very angry, “Don’t ever do that again!” she said. Kim and Sandra handed in their puppets and paper house to their teacher, and they got very good marks.

PENTAS SENI MTs. KANJENG SEPUH - Speech - Youth

YOUTH

(Salam)
MUQODDIMAH

Praise be to Allah, The Lord of the universe who has given us the blessing, so we can live in this world well.
Peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad that has shown us from the dark way to the right way that is Islam religion.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Honorable juries,
And dear audience.

As the Moslem generation, we have great responsibility to the future of religion and nation. Young generation is the only hope of the life of nation, the development and the decline of nations depends on them. And the victory and the destruction of religion and nation are on the hand of next generation. It's right what have been said by Islam philosopher Musthofa Al-Gholayain in the book Idhotun Nasyi'in reads :

(Ya Ma'syaros Shabab Inna fi aidikum khoirol ummah wa fi iqdamikum hayataha)
"Hi youth .... Surely all kinds of community's problem, in the success or not depend on your behavior .... and surely the development of religion, nation and country is on your shoulders".

Ladies and Gentlemen, dear brothers and sisters,
But the reality speaks the contrary ....
Let's have a view a moment to the life of youth at the present time .... !!! Many of them like to waste their parents' wealth uselessly, many are drop-out of school that finally ending in a frustration. Many don't know their purpose of life that their life is compared with water on the leaf of taro. They are easily influenced and played. If the condition of youth like this, just fond of strong drink, morphine, opium and narcotic, how will the fate of nation in the future? I think the earth we live on is hotter and hotter. The clear sky changes to be dark, the tear of cry will never stop .... repenting the fate that tortures their nation.

Ladies and Gentlemen, dear brothers and sisters,
Surely, it's hard to live in this Millenium era. But as Moslem youth, we must not surrender and be desperate. Do the good and useful deeds.
Moslem generation should have motto:
– Being brave to live not afraid of dying.
– To be afraid of death, Never live.
– To be terrified to live, Pass away, please.
Convince ourselves that the help of Allah always accompanies us, He will always help us.

That's all. Thank you for your attention and I beg your pardon for all the lack of it
Finally I say:
(Salam)

PENTAS SENI MTs. KANJENG SEPUH - Speech - Parents

PARENTS

(Salam)

In every day, in every month and in every year we must think of our parents. That is our obligation as a Moslem. But if we look at the condition now, we will find many deviations, especially in the behavior. We speak carelessly, rebel and even kill the parents. Parents treat and look after us with a good care but we think that parents have never loved and given affection to us.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
We must repent and apologize to all our mistakes so that our patents receive and admit us again as their beloved child. They always miss us every time even though we have made many mistakes to them. That's why Islam laws states in our prophet hadits:

(Ridlollahu fi ridlol walidain, wasukhtullahi fi sukhthil walidain)

"The angry of parents indicates the angry of Allah and the willing of parents indicates the willing of ALLAH."

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Knowing the warning from ALLAH in that hadits, we should realize and change our behavior to our parents. But reality is different. Many young people drink alcoholic beverage, and some others consume drugs and even some of them fell to the dark way by doing free sex. MasyaAllah .....

Do you know that our parents suffer?
Do you know that our parents love us?
Do you know that our parents cry?
Why do you hurt them?

Ya Allah help us ........

Ladies and Gentlemen,
May Allah help us in our life by leading us to the good way. May Allah show us the right way in behaving to our parents. AMEN ....

That's my speech, forgive me for the mistakes. Finally I say:
(Salam)

PENTAS SENI MTs. KANJENG SEPUH SIDAYU - Telling Story - Ali Baba

Ali Baba and The Forty Thieves

Ali Baba was such a poor man that he had only one shoe for his two feet. Even the mice in his house were hungry. One day, his wife said, “We have no food in the house. No rice. No potatoes. Go and collect leaves in the forest so that I can make soup.”

Ali was a lazy man. He looked for leaves for about ten minutes and then he climbed a tree to sleep. He was afraid of wolves. When he woke up he was surprised to see forty thieves on forty horses. He stopped in front of a big rock.

“Open Sesame!” shouted the leader. A door in the rock opened. The thieves carried sacks full of gold into the cave. When they had finished the leader shouted, “Close Sesame!” and the door closed.
As soon as the thieves had disappeared Ali Baba jumped down from the tree, said ‘Open Sesame’ and went into the cave. There were shelves all around the walls. The shelves were full of sacks. The sacks were full of gold. Ali took a sack home with him.

Unfortunately, one of the thieves saw Ali’s footprints on the sand. He followed them to Ali’s home. He took out his knife and made a cross on the door. “Now I shall know which house it is,” he said. Then, he rode off to get the other thieves. But Ali had seen the thief. He and his wife took brooms and swept away the footprints. Then he made crosses on every door in the street.

When the forty thieves arrived they had their knifes between their teeth. But they never found Ali or the gold. Ali and his wife lived happily ever after.

Gufy Media: Descriptive Text - Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls

The Niagara falls are spectacular waterfalls on the Niagara River in southern Ontario, Canada, on the border with the United Stales. They are one of the greatest waterfalls in the world, measured by the volume of water.
The falls were formed some 10,000 ears ago when the last continental glacier retreated. The word “Niagara” is a neutral word, meaning “neck,” because the Niagara River makes a cut through the Niagara Peninsula. The falls were a holy place to the native people, who had many myths to explain them.
The falls became a tourist attraction in the early 1800’s. in 1846 the maid of the Mist began taking tourist to the base of the falls. The railway arrived in 1853, bringing many more sightseers. The area took on a carnival atmosphere, with hotels, taverns, fortune tellers, souvenir stands, and hucksters competing for the tourist’ money. At one time it was impossible to view the falls without paying a fee. Finally, in 1885 Queen Victoria Park was created to preserve an open space around the falls. It was Canada’s first provincial park.
Niagara Falls were a natural site for the first great hydroelectric development in North America. Water was first diverted for Hydroelectricity from the Canadian side in 1893. When the Adam Beck Generating Station Number 1 opened in 1921, it was the largest powerhouse in the world. This powerhouse diverts water from the falls into tunnels, so in 1950 an agreement was signed between Canada and the United States to make sure that much of the water continues to flow over the falls.
One important thing related to Niagara Falls is about daredevils. They have defied the falls in barrels, boats, rubber balls, and tightropes. The most famous of these was the Great Blondin, who walked a rope across the gorge in 1859. Another time, he carried a terrified man on his back !
Niagara Falls remain one of the great tourist attractions in the world, with over 12 million visitors each year. They can view the falls from several towers, an aerocar over the whirlpool, the latest Maid of the Mist, and tunnels behind the Horseshoe Falls.

In school, Anita had an instructor who taught design. He never seemed to be happy with her work, but she had an intense enthusiasm for painting that no one could dampen and she would paint on into the summer when school was out.

Once when she visited aunt Bella. She did some painting on her farm. She got the pictures framed and entered them in the Surabaya fair art exhibition. Once they were entered, however, she began to worry. At that time, no artists could afford to pass up a chance for a cash prize no matter how small, and all the best artists in the state would have their paintings in the show. When the fair opened in September, she was well prepared for a bitter disappointment. Nevertheless, she hurried across the fairground to the art pavilion anxious to see the result, whatever they might be.

The instant she entered the main gallery, she spotted one of her paintings above the heads of the crowd, and on looking again she noticed a red ribbon attached to the frame.

Gufy Media: Hortatory Exposition - School Uniform, another Good Lesson

School Uniform, another Good Lesson

School uniform is special clothes worn by all students of a particular school. The uniform of a school may differ from others. Why should schools use uniforms? Below are some reasons.

First of all, Notre Dame’s Department of Sociology produced a study in 1998 concerning school uniforms. Their findings using 10th grade students showed that uniforms have no direct effect on “substance abuse, behavioural problems or attendance.” It also claimed a negative effect on student achievements for those students considered ‘pro-school’.

Secondly, uniform helps to create a strong sense school ethos and a sense of belonging to a particular community. As such it promotes discipline and helps to drive up academic standards, which is why a uniform is often adopted by schools which are being reopened with a fresh start after being classified as failing.
Finally, uniform acts as a social leveller, under which all students are equal in the eyes of the school and of each other. In institutions without uniform students are often competitive and worry endlessly about their appearance and the clothes they should wear. Pupils without expensive designer clothes and trainers may be singled out as social outcasts, or stigmatised as being from poor backgrounds. For these reasons many parents prefer uniforms as they save them money on buying clothes for school wear.

Considering the findings, schools should implement the uniform as their identity. The government should also publish some kind of rule which makes uniform compulsory for schools.

Gufy Media: Hortatory Exposition - Home Schooling

Home Schooling

Home schooling is an education system which provides child’s main education programme at home. Home schooling takes the place of full-time school attendance and, in the United States and Canada, it usually meets state requirements for compulsory education. Although home schooling could achieve the objectives of compulsory education, there are some points that should be noticed from the home schooling.

First, the idea of taking our children’s education on home schooling can be a bit intimidating. Since our country is so large and the people are from so many different kinds of backgrounds, students need some kind of social glue to make them stick together and to give them a sense of unity in spite of all the differences. They will not get such a unity when they are in home schooling. They will get the sense of unity when they are in the compulsory public schools since it is the easiest and best places to make this glue.

Then, the home schooling may not be able to prepare children to fit into the mass society, which means, among other things, believing what most people believe and liking what most people like. Or it may not be able to help children to find a set of values with which they could resist and reject at least many of the values of the mass society.

Recognizing the lack of home schooling in the case of children’s socialization opportunity, we should afford them abundant social opportunities. We can have active home school support groups. We can hold ongoing park days, meetings at the zoo, the science museum, book clubs, history clubs, language clubs, home school scouting troops and many more options to provide them opportunities to socialize with others.

Gufy Media: Hortatory Exposition - Private School

Private School

Private schools are schools that are not run by the government. They offer various types of schools and levels of education. Although the government does not directly run the private schools, the government should give more attention to private schools for some good reasons.

Private schools provide parents with an alternative to the state sector, and a learning environment, which might better suit their children. In addition, whilst there are many bad state schools, there are also bad private schools, and some excellent state schools which compete with the best private schools.

The existence of private education can actually be financially beneficial to state schools. The state funds the education system through taxation. Parents who do not send their children to state schools still pay the same taxes. Therefore, there is more money per child in the state sector. There is evidence that a large number of parents, who send their children to private schools, are both ‘fi rst time buyers’ – i.e. neither parent attending a private school – and not from the privileged elite that the opposition would have us believe.

Based on the above discussion, it is obvious that the government should give more attention to private schools because they also contribute much in the education world.

Gufy Media: Hortatory Exposition - Why are Diazinon and Dursband should be Banned

Why are Diazinon and Dursband should be Banned

Diazinon and dursban are chemicals used on lawns, gardens, agricultural crops and livestock as an insecticide or nematocide (for worms). They are banned for several good reasons.

Firstly, they cause nausea, dizziness, burning sensations, headaches, blurred visions, stomach and muscle cramps, twitching, diarrhea, aching joints, disorientation and an inability to concentrate.

Secondly, these chemicals cause human and animal birth defects in many areas of the human body including the brain, nervous system, teeth, eyes, ears, nipples and genitals. They can also cause profound growth and mental retardation when pregnant mothers are exposed. This may affect on lower birth weights of infants if mothers are exposed before and during pregnancy, and this is associated with lower IQs.

Finally, residues, of course, are on some foods--up to 14 days on lettuce, for example--and the chemical also seeps into the nearby water.

Therefore, the government must be urged to keep the safety factor of pesticides paramount in their thinking. Children are so much more sensitive than adults to the toxic effects of chemicals.

Gufy Media: Hortatory Exposition - Organic Farming

Organic Farming
A Solution for Harmless Food

Organic farming is a form of agriculture which excludes the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, plant growth regulators, livestock feed additives, and genetically modified organisms. It is believed that organic farming should replace conventional one for some reasons.

Firstly, as far as possible, organic farmers rely on crop rotation, integrated pest management, crop residue, compost and mechanical cultivation to maintain soil productivity and control pests.

Secondly, studies have shown that people who work with pesticides have an increased risk of developing Parkinson’s disease. The pesticides examined in these two long-term studies, paraquat and dieldrin, are not allowed on organic farms. The herbicide paraquat and fungicide maneb together, but not alone, have been shown to cause brain damage in mice. Some organic farming standards do allow the use of natural methods of protection from pests such as those derived from plants. Organic activists state that natural pesticides are a last alternative, while growing healthier, diseaseresistant plants, using cover crops and crop rotation, and encouraging beneficial insects and birds are the primary methods of pest control.

Finally, a 2001 study demonstrated that children who are fed organic diets experienced significantly lower organophosphorus pesticide exposure than children fed conventional diets. A similar study in 2006 measured the levels of organophosphoruspesticide exposure in 23 preschoolchildren before and after replacing their diet with organic food: levels of organophosphorus pesticide exposure dropped dramatically

and immediately when the children switched to an organic diet. Although the researchers did not collect health outcome data in this study, they concluded “it assumes that children whose diets consist of organic food items would have a lower probability of neurologic health risks.”

Therefore, organic farming should replace conventional one to reduce the using of pesticides which usually remain in farm production such as fruits and vegetables since there are a lot of research which prove that pesticides may be harmful for the consumers if people use pesticides improperly.
